FAQ

Lip Blushing

What Is Lip Blushing?

Lip blushing is a cosmetic tattoo designed to softly enhance the natural color, shape, and balance of the lips. It can restore lost pigment, even out tone, or add a gentle tint for a naturally refined look.

Immediately after treatment, lips will appear darker—similar to lipstick. As healing progresses, the color softens into a subtle, natural lip tint. With a touch of gloss or balm, lips appear hydrated and beautifully defined.

How Long Does It Last?

Results vary by individual. After the initial session and recommended touch-up, results typically last 2–5 years.
Permanent makeup pigments are designed to fade gradually, and occasional maintenance may be desired.

Healing & Aftercare

  • Moderate swelling, redness, or bruising is normal for the first few days

  • Color may appear uneven during healing

  • Expect up to 40% lightening once healed

  • Minimal flaking may occur—do not pick or peel

  • Final results take time and patience

Appointment Length & Experience

Appointments take approximately 2 hours, with a strong focus on consultation and preparation. We carefully discuss your goals, design shape and color together, apply numbing cream, and begin treatment only once we are fully aligned.

Will I Still Wear Lipstick?

Lip blushing is designed to look soft and natural—not like full lipstick. You may still wear lipstick on top, and colors will apply evenly and beautifully.

Cold Sore Precautions

Clients prone to cold sores should take prescribed antiviral medication starting 48 hours before and continuing after the appointment. Active outbreaks require rescheduling.

Who Is Not a Candidate?

Lip blushing may not be suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant or nursing

  • Are undergoing chemotherapy

  • Have certain medical conditions affecting healing or pigment retention

  • Have a history of keloid scarring or active skin conditions in the area

If you have previous lip tattooing, please contact us before booking.
Results cannot be guaranteed, as skin heals differently for each individual.

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications 48 hours before and after

  • Discontinue retinol and exfoliating products near the lips 2 weeks prior

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning 30 days before and after

  • Bring a reference lip color if desired

Brows (Microblading & Microshading)

What’s the Difference?

Microblading creates hair-like strokes for a soft, natural look.
Microshading (Ombre / Nano / Hybrid) creates a powdery, airbrushed effect using a digital device and typically lasts longer.

Both techniques are customized based on skin type, lifestyle, and desired outcome.

Procedure Time

  • Microblading: ~90 minutes

  • Microshading: 2–2.5 hours

  • Touch-up session: 4–6 weeks later

Healing & Results

  • Brows appear darker initially

  • Light scabbing may occur—do not pick

  • Color fades up to 40% during healing

  • Brows heal in 7–14 days, with full color settling around one month

A touch-up session is essential to refine shape and color.

Comfort & Longevity

Discomfort is typically mild. Topical numbing is applied before and during treatment.

Results generally last 1–3 years, depending on skin type, skincare routine, and lifestyle. Maintenance is recommended every 12–18 months.

Who Is Not a Candidate?

This service may not be suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Are using Accutane

  • Have certain medical conditions or allergies

  • Have recently had Botox, chemical peels, or tanning

A physician’s note may be required.

Care & Expectations

Following pre- and post-care instructions is essential for optimal results. While rare, risks exist with any cosmetic tattoo procedure. Individual results may vary, and facial symmetry can be refined during the touch-up session.
